Phil Flickinger Brand Storytelling Consulting is closed, as I've joined Copacino Fujikado full-time as Director of Strategy. However, you can continue to enjoy posts like this on our blog.
This post was deliberately planted for you to stumble across. “You” being a prospective employee who’s going down a rabbit hole on the CF website, pondering the existential question, “do I want to come work with these people?” We can’t—and won’t—answer that with a blog post. However, if an element of your question is, “do I want to come work in Seattle?”, we will unhesitatingly evangelize the city we call home.
Full disclosure: we love Seattle. We find ways to bring tourists here. We’re working on a critical project for City Hall. We help the people who help the people get around. We’re helping revitalize downtown. We’re biased. But if you’re considering uprooting to our unique corner of the country, here’s an unapologetically narrow listicle:
There’s a Thriving Tech and Innovation Scene
While it’s widely known that Seattle is home to tech giants like Amazon and Microsoft, the city also boasts a flourishing ecosystem of startups and tech incubators. With myriad networking events, hackathons, and tech meetups, it’s a perfect place for those looking to innovate and collaborate on cutting-edge projects. Seattle’s tech halo provides meaningful projects to work on, and secure places to land if agency life isn’t your be all end all.
Seattle Invests in Itself
Seattle is committed to raising its profile even further. Look no further than the new Summit Convention Center. The recently opened $2B architectural gem has transformed Seattle into a premier destination for large-scale events, conferences, and conventions. It doesn’t end there: the Waterfront is in the midst of a $781M upgrade. The city is hosting the World Cup in 2026. New Public Transportation arteries have been activated to expand access to the city, and more are on the way. Exemplary stadiums like Climate Pledge Arena draw sports and entertainment of all kinds.
We Have a Hidden Art Scene
Beyond the well-known Seattle Art Museum, the city has a plethora of hidden art galleries, pop-up exhibitions, and street art that capture the creative spirit of the city. Areas like Georgetown and Capitol Hill are particularly vibrant with artistic expressions that aren’t always in the tourist guides. There’s a rich music scene, with a variety of venues from intimate clubs to spacious theaters to cavernous arenas. Creative inspiration is at your doorstep.
Seattle Boasts an Eclectic Culinary Scene
Seattle’s food scene goes beyond just fresh seafood and gourmet coffee. The city is a melting pot of global cuisines with hidden gems like Ethiopian eateries, Filipino bakeries, and authentic Japanese izakayas tucked away in its diverse neighborhoods.
Moving to a new city is a big decision, but Seattle’s unique blend of culture, innovation, and community makes it a stellar choice. (And I didn’t even touch on the outdoorsy activities that enable you to experience the area’s natural beauty.) Come discover why so many people are proud to call this vibrant city home.
